Love doggos? U.P. sled dog race looks for volunteers to aid with numerous pups

CALUMET, MICH. — With ratings of dogs, mushers and viewers assembling in the Keweenaw Peninsula for the CopperDog sled dog races next month, the occasion’s organizers are trying to find some additional assisting hands.

CopperDog organizers are looking for numerous volunteers to help with whatever from dog dealing with to establish and take apart for its yearly dog sled race series, to be held this year March 3-5.

The occasion draws groups and viewers from throughout North America for 4 primary races, consisting of the three-day, 150-mile CopperDog 150 and a recently included 30-mile race. If all the races fill, there might be as lots of as 600 “Copper Dogs” in the Keweenaw that weekend, said Krissy Kovachich, CopperDog 150 volunteer director and musher intermediary.
