CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Montgomery County Animal Care and Control has acquired a number of pets which were displaced because the Clarksville twister on Saturday and they’re in search of donations for animals and people affected.
“We started taking in displaced animals Saturday evening right after the storm,” stated Animal Control director David Kaske. “We’ve taken in about 14 animals, primarily dogs, and we’ve already reunited some of those with their owners.”

The shelter is at full capability because of the numbers coming in, and individuals are inspired to verify with Animal Control if they’re lacking a misplaced pet. They are additionally accepting donations from the neighborhood for moist and dry meals, blankets, towels and washcloths, water bowls and cat litter.
The Nashville Humane Society helps the shelter by donating gadgets for animals and folks of Montgomery County. They are additionally choosing up pets to switch to their house, in an effort to create house at MCACC. “The support we have received so far is awesome,” Kaske stated. “We have had so many people reach out asking for what we need and what people in the community need.”
As of Monday, Animal Control officers have had issue getting in affected areas. “Traffic and congestion was so bad yesterday that two of our officers were stuck for over an hour and a half,” Kaske stated Tuesday. “We are hoping today we can access some of those areas we didn’t get into yesterday.”
Free microchipping
MCACC will even be offering free microchipping to pets this week on the shelter and the affected areas of Montgomery County together with Tiny Town, Tylertown, West Creek, Sandpiper, Britton Springs and Batts Lane. “Our adoption coordinator will be out with the vehicle today, scanning for microchips and handing out food for those that can’t make it to the shelter,” Kaske stated.
