A ROYAL Navy veteran from Portsmouth has actually turned a do it yourself man-cave into an award winning club shed.
John Simmons, 50, began producing his back garden boozer– The Dog & & Ball– in Horndean in 2015. It was crowned Britain’s Bar Shed of the Year in November.
The club includes its own dart board, fairy lights, beer garden, decking location and other functions. Mr Simmons, of Portsmouth, was pleased to get the award.
He stated: ‘It has actually all been rather frustrating, however I am chuffed to bits. We had 18 buddies over to commemorate the last and it was great to discover I won– I was truly delighted.
‘ I began developing it in 2015 and wished to have it finished this summer season for my 50th birthday. Sourcing the recovered product took the greatest piece of time. I am a devoted DIY-er and like a job.’
Mr Simmons commemorated his victory with his partner Anita, 49, kids Libby, 23, Jacob, 19, and Evie, 12, along with Labradoodle Bertie, 7; the club remains in his name.
