A fundraising event was held Saturday to raise money for dogs who require houses.
Jillanne Bowler-Beltman of Help a Buddy Fund says because the pandemic, dog adoptions have actually dropped to a few of the most affordable levels seen in years, and there are lots of dogs in shelters who require products while they wait to discover a home.
“We’re hosting a charity bbq and dog wash occasion called the Dog Days of Summer, and we’re simply attempting to raise funds for dogs in requirement,” she said.
The dog wash costs $10 per dog, and the bbq is $20.
“We’re attempting to raise $2,000 today and 50 percent of the profits are going to go assistance Paws Rescue and 50 percent return to Help a Buddy Fund. We have a yearly grant program that we do every year to support veterinary costs and such for animal rescue.”
The occasion will run till 4 p.m. on Saturday at 12215 William Short Road in Edmonton.
