A 6-year-old Maine woman is recuperating after she was viciously assaulted by a dog last weekend.
According to News Center MaineLily Norton, of Chesterville, invested 12 hours in surgical treatment and required over 1,000 stitches after she was assaulted on Saturday.
“She’s still sedated since she has a breathing tube in,” the woman’s mom, Dorothy Norton, said. “But besides that, she’s truly good. She looks truly good.”
Lily was over at a friend’s house when the attack occurred. She was apparently bitten by a pit bull her friend was dog-sitting at the time.
The girl was hurried to a close-by health center and after that taken by medical helicopter to Boston Children’s Hospital, where she stays as she continues her healing.
Lily is scheduled to go through surgical treatment on Friday and once again next week. Her mom said she is anticipated to be in the health center for about 2 weeks.
