RNLI’s St David’s inshore lifeboat was contacted us to the significant rescue on Monday (27 March) around 11am at the bottom of cliffs in between St Nons and Caerfai Bay.
The volunteer team were helped by the coastguard in finding Bosun the dog, who after a brief boat-ride, was reunited with his family at Porthclais Harbour.
Will Chant, RNLI Coxswain for St Davids RNLI lifeboat, says: “Bosun provided his owners rather a scare when he went after a bunny over a cliff edge, however the good news is he was unscathed and relieved to see the team.
“Bosun’s owners did the right thing in calling 999 for assistance rather than attempting to rescue. When walking on coast paths, we recommend that dogs are kept on short leads to avoid risk of them falling over cliff faces.”
