David Rogers was walking his Miniature Schnauzer Luna alongside the shoreline in Hook, close to the Solent Breezes Holiday Park, at round noon on Saturday when he noticed a big fin poking out of the water.

Referencing the movie Jaws, he mentioned: “I simply thought: ‘I’m going to want an even bigger boat!’
“I’m actually not going skinny dipping anymore, I’ll inform you that,” he joked.
The shark was about 15 to twenty metres away from the shore, David mentioned: “It was simply hovering.
“It could not have been a dolphin, as a result of they’re fairly energetic and the fin was too giant.”
The 48-year-old property agent mentioned: “I used to be like, ‘you have to be kidding, it is a wind up’.
“I used to be lifeless jealous; actually, I’m considering of going again and walking there myself to see if I can see it.”
Intrigued to know what it was, the pair did their very own analysis and spoke with Vicky’s father Richard Cannon, 75, who’s an avid wildlife photographer.
They have since moved away from David’s preliminary concept that it might be an Orca or a Great White Shark and now consider it might be a Basking Shark.
The second-largest species of fish on the planet, behind the Whale Shark, Basking Sharks measure round 8m in size and might be present in most British waters.
Despite their intimidating measurement and large, gaping, mouths, they pose little threat to people as they feed on the plankton that they filter out of the water.
David mentioned: “It was proper the place Southampton Water goes into the Solent, so it will need to have been there swimming and got here a bit nearer to shore.”
Vicky added: “I’m not an enormous fan of the ocean due to the issues usually swimming in it – however you actually will not catch me in it now!”
