The Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office on Wednesday launched its latest member, an electronics detection canine who will assist regulation enforcement throughout crimes towards youngsters investigations.
The state’s lawyer’s workplace introduced in late November that Grip would be a part of their Cyber Lab.
Grip is a year-and-a-half-old yellow Labrador Retriever that was skilled in electronics detection.
She can find cellphones, computer systems and every other digital units containing a SIM card or chip, in keeping with the state’s lawyer’s workplace.
Grip has been partnered with handler Rob Beach, who’s a Lake County State’s Attorney investigator specializing in cybercrime investigations.
Grip will help Beach in mutual assist requests throughout investigations involving crimes towards youngsters, officers mentioned.
She will work with regulation enforcement businesses through the execution of search warrants associated to instances involving the usage of digital units.

Grip was donated by a grant from Defenders for Children, whose mission is to forestall baby abuse, trafficking and baby pornography.
The canine was gifted to Defenders For Children by Gripple, Inc., a personal firm that will increase consciousness concerning sexual abuse and human trafficking.

The new addition of Grip comes following the retirement of the state’s lawyer’s workplace’s final digital detection canine, Browser, who left the workplace in April.
The state’s lawyer’s workplace, alongside Gripple Inc. and Defenders for Children, held a press convention on Wednesday formally introducing Grip.
