BOSTON (WBZ) – Two nurses, who’re courting, jumped in to assist after a girl was struck by lightning whereas walking her canine on a Massachusetts seashore.

Clouds rolled in Saturday in the direction of Savin Hill Beach in Boston, bringing booms of thunder and blasts of lightning. Residents may inform one explicit lightning strike hit near home.

“I heard that bolt of lightning. It was so loud,” resident Kenneth Osherow stated. “A fire truck came by and then, 30 seconds later, an ambulance then another ambulance, a police car.”

Police say round 3:30 p.m., EMS responded to a name for assist after a 31-year-old lady was hit by lightning whereas walking her canine on the seashore. Neighbors say these on the seashore carried her up the steps and onto a porch to guard her from the rain.

Tracy Cronin, an intensive care unit nurse at Boston Children’s Hospital, lives simply steps away from the place the lightning hit. She rushed over to assist the girl who was struck.

“She had a burn wound on her chest, and her pants were burned off of her and you could smell it,” Cronin stated.

The nurse says she and her boyfriend, who’s an emergency room nurse, took turns performing CPR on the girl for round quarter-hour.

“Initially, we didn’t get a pulse, but then, we finally got a pulse. She wasn’t awake though. She was down for quite a while,” Cronin stated.

Police say as soon as paramedics arrived, the girl was taken to the hospital, the place she remained in vital situation Sunday.

“Never seen anything like this happen,” Cronin stated.

The sufferer’s canine was scared by the lightning strike and ran off. It was positioned in Savin Hill and reunited with household Sunday morning.
