A girl was taken to hospital with critical accidents after being attacked by a bully-type canine yesterday.

Emergency providers have been known as to McConnel Street in Kelloholm, Dumfriesshire, at round 6.25pm.

The sufferer was taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary, together with her accidents described as ‘critical’.

Part of McConnel Street remained cordoned off final evening. Police stated: ‘We acquired a report of a giant bulldog-type canine attacking a girl in McConnel Street at round 6.25pm.

It comes as Holyrood Ministers have been criticised for refusing to reveal what number of XL bully house owners have utilized for exemptions or have opted to have their dogs put down.

In February, the primary stage of recent guidelines banned the breeding and sale of XL bullies whereas these already saved as pets have to be muzzled in public.

Stage two begins on July 31 when it is going to be unlawful to personal an XL bully with out an exemption certificates.

Owners may apply for £100 to cowl euthanasia/vet charges and £100 to compensate for his or her loss. But the Scottish Government refuses to say what number of exemptions or compensation claims have been submitted.

This means the general public has no thought what number of probably harmful XL bully-type dogs there are.
