Met police arrest man after incident during which Marie Theobald was killed whereas walking dogs in Chigwell

A person has been arrested after a girl and two dogs had been killed days earlier than Christmas in a suspected hit-and-run crash in Essex.
Marie Theobald, 48, from Hainault, was walking with two dogs named Riley and Honey on Manford Way, Chigwell, when she was hit by a automotive, believed to be a white Seat Leon.
Emergency companies had been known as at 5.09pm on Friday however she was pronounced useless on the scene, as had been the dogs.
The driver did not cease and the Seat Leon was positioned close by shortly after the collision, the Metropolitan police stated.
A person was arrested in reference to the crash and brought into police custody.
In an announcement Theobald’s household stated: “Marie was a loving mother, daughter, sister, niece and friend. Marie was an honest, hardworking, selfless woman who would do anything for anyone. Marie always put others first.
“The dogs, Riley and Honey, were much loved members of the family. They adored Marie as she adored them.
“May they all rest in perfect peace together.
“The family ask for their privacy to be respected at this time.”
