Keswick Mountain Rescue Team were contacted us to Grains Gill at 6.25pm the other day, May 13.
Cumbria Police initially assigned the job to the Wasdale Team due to the Scafell Pike recommendation, and reallocated to Langdale Ambleside MRT after PhoneFind recognized the casualty (dog) place on the Langdale side of Esk Hause.
Having already had a really hectic day with numerous callouts the Langdale Ambleside group passed it to Keswick as it was on the edge of our spot. Keswick employee approached from Seathwaite Farm and climbed up towards Esk Hause through Grains Gill.
The Keswick group satisfied the casualty and owners high up Grains Gill. The casualty was received in a ‘cas bag’ on the stretcher and sledged/carried back to Seathwaite Farm. Despite being rather a big dog at 33kg it was a delight to bring such a reasonably light-weight casualty.
The casualty stayed cool, calm and favorably regal throughout! The casualty and owners were offered a lift to Keswick Team Base where other members of their celebration gathered them.
