KENNETT, Mo. (KBSI)- Crews from the Kennett Fire Department had been dispatched at 10:44 a.m. Tuesday morning, January thirtieth for a home fireplace on 800 Bluebird Drive.
According to Kennett Fire Marshal, Dennis Hamlett, flames and smoke had been coming from the home windows and roof from the home upon their arrival. Hamlett says the home had been burning fifteen to twenty minutes earlier than they had been referred to as.
The proprietor of the home was asleep on the time of the beginning of the fireplace and woke to the sounds of his smoke detectors.
