‘It was biting me actually exhausting’ – Lady injured after ‘canine attack’ on Northumberland seashore

A girl attacked by a canine on a Northumberland seashore says she may have been critically damage had she not been sporting a thick ski jacket.

Lynn Elliott, 58, was walking her three-year-old black Labrador Stanley on Boulmer Beach on Thursday afternoon when she mentioned they have been approached by a German Shepherd with a stick. The two dogs performed collectively and Lynn says she chatted to the German Shepherd’s proprietor earlier than heading again to her automobile.

Lynn, who lives in Alnwick, advised ChronicleStay: “I mentioned to the proprietor they have selective listening to once they need to play, as a result of it was simply ignoring her. We went to move again to the automobile and her canine picked up my canine’s ball, so she gave him a deal with and he dropped the ball and she or he gave it again to me.

“Then I felt this terrible ache in my facet and I believed ‘oh my god’ and I abruptly realise it had bit me by my coat.”

Lynn mentioned she then walked away to return to her automobile and claims the canine attacked her once more from behind, this time biting her arm.

Make up artist Lynn mentioned she then used her ball thrower to scare the canine away, and says that it backed off. She says that she tried to clamber again to her automobile and “waded by three ft of seaweed” to get again to security.

She mentioned: “It jumped up and grabbed the highest of my arm once more, it was actually sore and I believed oh my god, when’s it going to cease? I felt actually shaken up, If it was any person frail or a toddler, or if I had been knocked to the bottom, who is aware of what would have occurred?

“It was biting me actually exhausting, it wasn’t enjoying. I had an enormous, thick coat on as a result of it was such a horrible day with the rain, and it wasn’t ripped however the sheer pressure of the bites have left me with bruises.”

Lynn has since been given a tetanus booster and a one-week course of antibiotics focused particularly at canine bites. She believes that the canine needs to be muzzled and on a lead, and suggested individuals to take care on Boulmer Beach.

A Northumbria Police spokesperson mentioned: “Yesterday (Thursday), we acquired a report that at roughly 2.30pm a canine had bitten a lady in Northumberland.

“It was reported {that a} girl was walking on Boulmer Beach when a canine approached her and bit her, inflicting accidents to her again, legs and arms. Enquires are ongoing.”
