RACINE — The City of Racine and the City of Racine, Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Department (PRCS) formally opened the Island Park Dog Park on Aug. 21.
Mayor Cory Mason and Tom Molbeck, the Director of PRCS, opened the park with a ribbon-cutting event Monday afternoon.
By the Mayor’s side was his dog, Antigone, and beside Molbeck were his pups, Wrigley and Otis.
The 3 black laboratories were the very first to break in the brand-new Island Park Dog Park, which has different sides for little and big dogs, all confined with a gate for safety.
The enclosed side devoted to big dogs is for dogs over 25 pounds. and the little side is for dogs under 25 pounds. Additionally, pups should be at least 4 months of age.
