A grandmother who was savaged to loss of life by XL bullies died of “unsurvivable” canine chunk wounds, an inquest heard.
Police found Esther Martin, 68, unresponsive inside a property in Jaywick in Essex, Thursday’s listening to in Chelmsford was informed.
Coroner’s officer Andy Flack stated police have been referred to as to a disturbance on the tackle in Hillman Avenue at 4pm on February 3.
He stated Ms Martin, who was staying on the tackle however lived in Woodford Green in east London, was discovered together with “two large dogs”.
“She was unresponsive,” stated Mr Flack. “Her injuries were unsurvivable.”
He stated Ms Martin was pronounced lifeless at 4.47pm, together with her medical reason behind loss of life recorded as “dog bite wounds to the upper right limb”.
Ms Martin had reportedly tried to interrupt up preventing puppies earlier than she was attacked.
Two dogs have been destroyed on the scene and have been later confirmed by Essex Police to be XL bullies.
A 39-year-old man, who was arrested on suspicion of harmful canine offences, has been bailed till March 5.
Lincoln Brookes, senior coroner for Essex, suspended the inquest proceedings pending the result of the police investigation.
He stated: “May I extend my deepest condolences to the family of Ms Martin on what on any view is an extremely tragic death of a loved one.”
