There are at the moment three “college dogs” in place throughout the Borders.

Hawick & Denholm councillor Clair Ramage has urged warning after “receiving very worrying emails from residents in regards to the detrimental impact it had on their lives”.

She mentioned one lady ended up in Borders General Hospital (BGH) after discovering a 20-week-old untrained puppy operating round a employees assembly on the primary day of time period.

Mrs Ramage mentioned the lady “instantly started to make use of her inhalers many instances a day, upped her anti-histamines, and adjusted her garments and showered as quickly as she obtained in from work”.

Despite it being classed as “a low allergy canine”, the lady’s situation “deteriorated” and he or she needed to go to BGH.

Even with the canine solely being allowed within the head’s workplace and the playground, the lady now “feels her job shouldn’t be sustainable due to the state of affairs”.
