Andy Martin and Lori Power had their worst nightmares realised when a blaze ripped via their Middleton home on August 16.

“He managed to kick the door off but flames were coming out towards him. He found the dogs, one was hiding behind the couch and one was trapped in the fire.”

Star, the French bulldog discovered hiding behind the couch, suffered smoke inhalation however survived. Sadly, her puppy Willow died from her accidents.

“We got a phone call from the vet saying Willow only had an hour to live,” Andy added. “Her lungs had been collapsing. Everything has gone, together with one in every of my dogs. All I’ve thought of is Lori and my canine.

“It’s heartbreaking, that was my baby. I got her at eight-weeks-old.”
