US: Alligator assaults lady walking her canine close to a Florida lake

The horrifying second a pensioner was dragged to her dying by an alligator has been captured on digital camera.

Gloria Serge, 85, was walking her canine within the gated group of Spanish Lakes Fairways, Florida, when she was mauled to dying by a 10ft alligator. The large reptile initially went for Gloria’s beloved canine Trooper earlier than dragging the pensioner into the water and killing her.




The horrendous attack was caught on digital camera, with footage displaying Gloria’s final moments earlier than she died. In the video, the alligator could be seen lurking within the water earlier than it begins to slowly transfer in the direction of Gloria and Trooper.

As Gloria and Trooper stand dangerously near the water’s edge, the alligator throws itself in the direction of the canine, who manages to evade the reptile’s huge jaws. Instead, the alligator assaults Gloria and ultimately pulls her into the water.

Frightened neighbour Carole Thomas witnessed the attack and tried to avoid wasting Gloria. Carole desperately phoned 911 and stated: “There’s a lady within the lake. The alligator’s obtained her! I believe she’s gone, oh my God.”

Carole tried to discover a pole to tug her to land however it was tragically too late. She added: “There is not any means I may have gotten to her sooner. It’s horrible for her household. It’s simply horrible, horrible. And her mates, I spoke to a few her mates yesterday who’re devastated.”

Following the tragedy the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission cleared the lake of the alligators with Henry, the reptile who killed Gloria, eliminated and killed by wildlife officers. Jay Mandelker, president of Spanish Lakes Fairways, confirmed the alligators have since been eliminated.
