Frightened neighbour Carole Thomas witnessed the attack and tried to avoid wasting Gloria. Carole desperately phoned 911 and stated: “There’s a lady within the lake. The alligator’s obtained her! I believe she’s gone, oh my God.”

Jay Mandelker, president of Spanish Lakes Fairways, confirmed the alligators have since been eliminated.
He instructed TCPalm: “They did so to allay any considerations and to make us realise the precautions we must always take with regard to wildlife, alligators particularly.
