The minute Suzette Hall found out about a roaming bichon mix going from deck to deck searching for shelter, she understood simply how the dog felt. Recent floods in Hall’s Southern California community had actually required the dog rescuer out of her house, and, much like the white, fluffy puppy, she was frantically searching for a brand-new location to call home.

“I had been feeling so displaced that day, like I didn’t have anywhere to go,” Hall, creator of Logan’s Legacy dog rescueinformed The Dodo. “And then I got the message about the dog.”

Suzette Hall

Neighbors initially discovered the dog a couple of days prior, apparently after her family left her in a close-by park. Southern California was experiencing disastrous storms at the time, and, while the rain put down, the frightened puppy stopped at every surrounding house in hopes of being saved.

“She would go up and scratch on the door like, ‘Let me in!’” Hall said. “Then, when no one answered, she would just sit there and shake.”

Before making her method over to the dog’s area, Hall published about her online. She anticipated messages to gather from individuals declaring to be the dog’s owners, as she usually would with white, fluffy dogs, however this time was various.

“We didn’t even get one,” Hall said. “Nobody was looking for her.”

As quickly as Hall got to the community, she began to utilize all her normal strategies for capturing dogs. She established a gentle trap, tossed some treats in the puppy’s instructions to entice her, then concealed. She hoped the dog’s appetite would lead her straight into the trap, however, rather, her worry drove her far from it.

Defeated, Hall attempted a more personal method.

“She was too scared to go into the trap, so I sat there with her and talked to her,” Hall said. “I was telling her that I understood how she felt. I was saying, ‘I don’t have a home either right now.’”

To her surprise, the puppy heated up to Hall as quickly as she began talking with her. The rescuer inched her method towards the dog as she spoke, and, ultimately, she was close sufficient to touch her.

“I slowly made my way closer, then she let me start petting her,” Hall said. “That had me shocked.”

After a couple of caring family pets, Hall carefully positioned a slip lead over the dog’s neck, then put her in the trap to carry her to the truck securely. As they repelled, the dog wandered off to sleep.

Hall brought the puppy directly to the veterinarian, who quickly offered her a tidy costs of health. The just thing that appeared to be troubling the puppy was her matted fur, so they made a last-minute grooming appointment.

As she shaved away the puppy’s knotted clumps, the groomer felt as though the dog appeared like a Nicole, so she called her Nikki for brief.

Before long, Nikki had a rejuvenating brand-new hairstyle and was prepared to go to her foster home, where she still is today.

The sweet puppy is presently awaiting a permanently family, however Hall senses it won’t take wish for somebody to fall for her.

“She’s one of those dogs who everyone just loves instantly,” Hall said. “She’s so kind, and she doesn’t even bark!”

Hall hopes that the ideal family will discover Nikki quickly, however, up until then, the rescuer and her group will continue to absorb all the love Nikki needs to provide.

“She is just the sweetest little dog,” Hall said. “Seriously, she is perfection.”
