The caretaker took Nona, a ten-year-old Japanese Shiba Inu, for a walk however stopped working to secure the harness appropriately and she escaped.
Katie Priss was on a walk near to the Dock Museum near Walney Channel when she was approached by a lady. She informed Katie that Nona was stuck in the water amongst seaweed attempting to get up the wall.
The tide was low and the drop was expensive for the set to reach it.
They called the coastguard and after that a man from the shipyard went and got another man, Ian Short, from his boathouse.
Katie said: “Next minute Ian came rowing around the corner – outright hero.
“We discovered a rope and tossed it down to Ian so he might securely browse himself closer to the wall where the dog was. Ian pulled her into the boat and securely rowed her around the corner to some land.”

She said: “I invested hours anxiously publishing in every regional Facebook and WhatsApp group. Then I get about 4 messages from complete strangers of a screenshot of Nona who had actually been plucked out of the channel.
“I spoke with Ian and he said he believed he was far too late as he might just see her nose above the water. Thankfully he got her out in the nick of time, the coastguard took her to the veterinarian and they said there was no indication of drowning or water inhalation – she was simply cold and she was permitted home.
“My typical caretaker had actually simply got home from Greece that early morning and resides in the North East now however as quickly as I called her she came by and the other caretaker was sacked.”
