Dog parks in Seattle. Where should the next ones go?
Information from District 1 City Councilmember Lisa Herbold
Seattle Parks & Recreation (SPR) requires your input as they develop and build brand-new dog Off Leash Areas (OLAs), consisting of 2 in District 1! Learn more hereand take the study here.
I promoted financing in the 2023-29 Park District monetary strategy to style and build a West Seattle OLA – and thanks to constant and efficient advocacy from West Seattle Dog Park Coalitionmy Council coworkers authorized those funds! A brand-new OLA at South Park Community Center is already in the works.
The map listed below highlights existing OLAs (green dots). The blue dots suggest 3 brand-new websites already in the preparation stage, moneyed by the previous cycle of the Metropolitan Park District (MPD) – consisting of South Park Community Center. The existing MPD cycle (2023-2029) offers financing for the building of 2 brand-new OLAs – one in West Seattle – and the style of a 3rd.
