LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE/Gray News) – While in search of the house owners of a misplaced canine, two good Samaritans in Indiana ended up presumably saving the lifetime of an aged man who had fallen.
The Jennings County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post that the couple discovered the canine wandering Saturday afternoon after she broke free from her chain.
While going door to door in hopes of discovering the house owners, the couple heard an aged man yelling for assist inside one of many properties.
The sheriff’s workplace stated the person wanted rapid medical consideration after he had fallen no less than two days prior and couldn’t rise up.
The couple known as 911 and the person was taken to the hospital.
One of the primary responders instructed deputies that if the person had not been discovered quickly, he “may not have survived much longer,” the sheriff’s workplace wrote.
The canine was taken to animal management and was later returned to her house owners.
“Thank you to these good Samaritans for their kindness in caring about the dog but also potentially saving the elderly male,” the sheriff’s workplace wrote. “Dogs truly are man’s best friend. Although it was not her owner, this pup breaking loose likely saved a life.”
