Mumford, a 70 kg St. Bernard, was having a hard time to leave icy waters and onto the coastline of the tank he and his owners were walking by on February 11 in Colorado, United States.
The daft dog failed the ice after it chased a stone that its owner avoided throughout Jim Baker Reservoir, which depends on Denver, Colorado.

Seeing their dog fall under the water, the owners called emergency situation service who got here simply 5 minutes later on.
Firefighters were then able to pull Mumford out simply a couple of minutes after that.
Captain Jason Seitz of Adams County Fire Rescue, which rescued the dog, revealed the complex technique utilized to rescue Mumford, which begins with a firemen putting on a “Mustang Suit” that enables the user to keep warm in freezing temperature levels.
“The rescuer is then tethered to a rope line that will have two firefighters on shore tending the line. The rescuer then walks or crawls, depending on the thickness of the ice, to the victim in the water”, he continued.
“[As the] rescuer [makes] their method to the victim, they are interacting with the victim or animal by calling it by name.
“The rescuer then enters the water to the side of the victim, proceeding to get behind the victim, and assists them out of the water and onto the shore”, he concluded.
Once the dog was rescued, his group dried him off and his owners had the ability to stroll him home “without any signs of trauma from the incident”.
Captain Seitz said that the very best method for members of the general public to help anybody who has actually failed ice is to discover a landmark near the victim and call emergency situation services for help.
“Do not attempt to rescue [them] yourself”, he encouraged.
“This could cause the rescue to involve two or more victims that are needed to be rescued. The safest plan is to remain on shore and in verbal contact, if possible, with the victim or animal”, he said.
