A heart-breaking discovery was made by a Hertfordshire local last weekend. The RSPCA has actually exposed that a member of the general public discovered a young puppy dead on Saturday, January 28, in a field at the junction of Hammonds Lane and Coleman Green Lane in St Albans.
The animal charity is seeking for help from members of the general public to come forward after the animal was “discarded” in the Herts location. RSPCA animal rescue officer Nicole Pendrell-Smith, who is checking out the occurrence, said: “This is extremely distressing and we are eager to learn how the puppy happened discarded like this and why he remained in the condition he remained in.
“The body was examined by a vet, who determined that the puppy was around 12 to 14 weeks old. He had no external injuries but was emaciated and had signs of a gastric illness. It is clear that the puppy was ill before he died and may have not had treatment. We are urging anyone who has any information at all to please contact us in complete confidence on 0300 123 8018.”
