Uga X, the previous bulldog mascot for the University of Georgia, has died. He was 10.


The beloved pup, fondly generally known as “Que,” died “peacefully in his sleep” on Tuesday morning, based on an announcement from UGA Athletics. Born May 27, 2013, Uga X started his time on the college at age 2 in a collaring ceremony through the Georgia-Georgia Southern soccer sport on Nov. 21, 2015.


During his time with the group, Georgia held a 91-18 soccer report, made seven New Year’s Six bowl appearances, received two SEC titles, and secured two back-to-back nationwide championships. He turned “essentially the most adorned of all of the Bulldog mascots” and retired after the 2022 season.





“He will all the time be remembered as a Damn Good Dawg,” UGA Athletics added of their put up on X, previously generally known as Twitter. The announcement was additionally shared on the University of Georgia’s account, which echoed the same sentiments by writing, “A DGD.”


Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp wrote on X“Que leaves behind a historic legacy and can ceaselessly be within the hearts of all the Dawg Nation. Rest in peace to a DGD!”


The Georgia Football X account thanked the pup for his service, sharing a photograph of him alongside the textual content, “Thank you, Que, Uga X.” Uga XI — Uga X’s son — turned the group’s official mascot after his dad’s retirement.

According to the universitythe 1-year-old, also referred to as Boom, stepped into his new position forward of the Bulldogs’ 2023 G-Day sport in April and made his common season debut in September.


The bulldog mascot custom started in 1956 when Uga I, belonging to Sonny and Cecelia Seiler, appeared at a sport. Since then, the household has served because the caretakers for the UGA line.


Family member Charles Seiler informed WXIA-TV after UGA X’s loss of life that “issues will probably be just a little completely different round the home for some time.”

“Que historically begins barking for his breakfast round 5:30 a.m. This morning, Boom waited till 6:00 a.m. to tell us he was prepared for his breakfast so he’ll be just a little later every day,” he informed the outlet.
