COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) —
Local pet homeowners are getting a present from the Franklin County Dog Shelter to maintain their furry pals secure and wholesome.
This Saturday, the shelter is about to host a free clinic for vaccinations for dogs. The clinic will likely be drive-thru, and no registration is critical.
“The Franklin County Dog Shelter and Adoption Center recognizes recent public health concerns among dogs throughout the country, as well as financial barriers among our community members,” Franklin County Animal Care and Control Department director Kaye Persinger said in a press release. “The goal is to assist where we can to ease some burden and do our part ensuring that even our canine friends are happy and healthy.”
“The extra viruses and micro organism current, the more serious the scientific indicators get,” Dr. Melanie DeHaan, medical director of SOS of Ohio stated. “Having these vaccines in impact earlier than a canine contracts a virus or bacterial pathogen, will assist forestall growth of pneumonia.”
The vaccine clinic will run from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on December 9 on the Franklin County Dog Shelter and Adoption Center on 4340 Tamarack Blvd.
