An indication warning canine walkers to select up their pets’ poo was fouled up after months of campaigning, a councillor has claimed.
Councillor Joan McTigue says Middlesbrough Council made a large number of the “no fouling” signal on Kirkham Row, Beechwood. She asserts the signal is simply too small, too excessive from the bottom and within the flawed place.
She stated: “It’s the daftest factor I’ve seen in 20 years. Fine for anyone who’s 10ft tall.

“I do not know any residents who’re 10ft tall. You want binoculars to learn it.
“That’s not less than 10ft from the bottom, unattainable to learn, pointless and the standard waste of our money. It’s taken me months to get an indication right here and that is the very best they will provide. In future I’ll do the job myself.”
She stated of the canine fouling on the road: “It’s been an issue for about six to eight months. It was worst I’ve seen.
“There had been six or seven pile of it on one aspect of the highway. I’ve counted it myself. I requested for all of it to be cleaned up and it wasn’t achieved.
“I requested it to go on the left hand aspect the place all of the canine fouling is.” Eventually a small signal was put up saying “no fouling” and “offenders might be prosecuted”, however on the opposite aspect of the highway, and at a excessive elevation.
Cllr McTigue stated at first she couldn’t spot the signal: “They stored saying, ‘it is there’. I could not see it, I went up and down, however you do not lookup within the sky for a highway signal.
“We’ve bought canine fouling indicators that no person can see.”
She stated the signal had not solved the dog-fouling downside: “It undoubtedly hasn’t stopped it.”
One resident commented on the road: “Is that what it says? I have never bought my binoculars out.”
Dog walker Michelle Gill stated: “I can not see it, are you able to? I did not even realize it was there till Joan informed me.”
A council spokesman stated: “The council responded to a request for an indication within the space and organized for it to be put in.
