A police canine in DeLand, Fla., situated and safely returned a lacking little one to his household.

The little one, a 3-year-old boy, was reported lacking to the DeLand Police Department at roughly 11:30 a.m. on March 29, the division shared in a Facebook post.

After the toddler was reported lacking, “all available property and sources had been deployed instantly as officers performed an enormous search, specializing in a wooded space behind the boy’s home,” the police division added.

But it was one police canine who in the end turned the search’s most useful asset. “Using the boy’s blanket, Ok-9 Midnight and his handler Corporal Clark searched by means of the woods,” the DeLand Police Department shared.

“He was dragging me by means of the woods, like he was simply he wasn’t gonna cease,” Clark informed native NBC affiliate WESH.

The toddler was returned to his household protected and unhurt, and cops gifted him with a teddy bear, which he will be seen holding in a photo shared by the division.

In the identical shot, the kid hugs a member of the family—each of their faces blurred for privateness—and poses with three officers and his hero, Midnight.

Alongside the image of the boy along with his household and a headshot of the police canine, the division wrote, “Good work to all groups concerned! This is the end result we hope for in these conditions, a protected return!”

Midnight has been with the Florida police division since 2022, and when he is not on responsibility, he’s a candy pup who likes to play ball, Clark informed WESH.
