FIVE people were injured in a dog attack in Redditch.
Paramedics treated five patients at the scene of the attack along dual carriageway Coventry Highway at around 9.15am yesterday (Tuesday December 20).
They took one man to hospital.
The remaining four patients made their own way to hospital together.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We received several calls reporting a number of people who had been attacked by dogs near to Coventry Highway, Redditch shortly after 9.00am.
“An ambulance and paramedic officer attended the scene and five patients received treatment from ambulance staff.
“One man was conveyed to Alexandra Hospital by ambulance whilst the remaining four patients were able to make their own way to hospital together.”
Police attended and closed the road while they attempted to catch the dogs.
All five of the dogs were “safely secured” and police said the owner is talking to them.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: “We received reports that a group of dogs were loose and had attacked people in Redditch.
“Officers attended the scene, either side of the Coventry Highway, and the road was briefly closed.
“All five dogs were safely secured.
“One person has attended hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening and it is believed at least two other people received injuries, the extent of which is currently unknown.
“The owner is currently working with us and our enquiries are ongoing.”
