LITCHFIELD — Firefighters rescued a dog who jumped from a tower in Mount Tom State Park on Monday, authorities state.
In a post on Facebook, the Bantam Fire Company said it was called at 3:35 p.m. about a report that a dog leapt 34 feet from the tower at the park and was not able to move.
The fire department said the Litchfield Fire Department was asked for its all-terrain vehicle and injury-transport equipment, while the Washington Volunteer Fire Department was asked for workforce.
“We likewise alerted our regional Vet to wait for the arrival of the dog,” the post said. “Crews treked to the top, met the dog and his owner. The dog was steady however required to be reached the bottom.”
The fire department said teams left the woods at 4:40 p.m.
“We carried the dog conveniently resting in the Stokes Basket on Rescue 38 and moved care to the Vet staff at Northwest Corner Vetrinary Hospital,” the post said. “We’re happy to report the dog has actually been analyzed and has no life threatening injuries!”
