GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – The Red Cross is assisting a family in Gainesville after their home was damaged in a fire on Monday.

Gainesville Fire Rescue got the call around 4 p.m.

The fire at the home off Northwest 21st Street was relatively big when firemens arrived.

Five individuals remained in the home in addition to 6 dogs and 3 cats. While no individuals were hurt, one dog has actually passed away.
