You can see a great deal of Ramon Najera in his kid Raymond, in between their green thumbs and thriftiness.
”Coupon King. He constantly brought those discount coupon books anywhere he went,” Raymond said with a smile and a laugh.
Raymond’s daddy is still with him, despite the fact that he was handled February 24th after numerous pit bulls attacked Ramon and his wife.
Raymond’s stepmom is still recuperating.
“She has that fear that it’s gonna be…something’s gonna come up on her. And, you know, just the way she was attacked,” Raymond said.
Their family is turning that discomfort into action, taking a trip to Austin to speak on behalf of Texas House Bill 4759 authored by Liz Campos at a public hearing.
HB 4759 enables witnesses to stay confidential when animal care services examines occurrences and when a dog is considered dangerous, the report is committed regional courts to prosecute as a class C misdemeanor as a very first offense and third-degree felony for duplicated offenses.
“They may be small changes but they’re significant changes,” Raymond said.
He’ll be sharing his daddy’s story, hoping it’ll attract legislators so they’ll back this expense and keep this catastrophe from taking place to another family.
If it ends up being law, it’ll bear his papa’s name.
“It’s bittersweet. You know, he’s gone but his name will still be, you know, archived in Texas…Texas state,” Raymond said.
The public hearing for HB 4759 is taking place Monday.
Raymond is asking individuals to stand with him and contact their agents to back the expense.
Two other pieces of legislation have actually been submitted by San Antonio location legislators associating with unsafe dogs, not just in our city however throughout the state.
