SAINT ANTONIO – A disposed dog that turned to eliminating cats in a community was rescued and has a brand-new home and name.
Genny Slater is offering the pitbull mix now worn Sabina a 2nd opportunity.
“She has no reason to trust anybody, no reason to want to love, but she’s just love,” said Slater.
Sabina and a brindle-colored dog hadn’t been captured or seen in weeks. They were discarded near the Timber Ridge and Tara communities.
The 2 dogs were delegated take care of themselves for almost 3 weeks. During that time, they were implicated of assaulting and eliminating numerous cats.
When Animal Care Services captured Sabina, she was going to be euthanized till Slater particularly asked to adopt her.
Not everybody is a fan of Sabina’s 2nd opportunity.
“It was a horrific death when you have your cat being just terribly torn apart by two dogs. I feel sorry for these animals, but when they’re loose that long, and they start imposing danger in the neighborhoods, it’s scary,” said one next-door neighbor who asked to stay confidential.
The local wasn’t the only individual in the location worried. Another next-door neighbor sent KSAT the following email:
“I cannot understand why a dog known to have participated in killing at least six cats would be deemed safe to return to the community,” the 2nd next-door neighbor said.
Slater informs us she is taking duty for Sabina now.
“I hate that that happened. I in no way want to minimize the loss and the grief for the people who lost their pets because I would be heartbroken if I lost my pet. She’s not a bad dog. She was just in a bad situation,” Slater said.
air conditioner authorities said when it pertains to positioning a dog, it’s on a case-by-case basis, and each is examined. They said the only animals not put are those with an unprovoked or duplicated bite history versus individuals.
