Drew Barrymore Says Her Dog Flossie Got Frisky in France

Flossie would go on to save Barrymore’s life during a house fire in 2001. The “Wedding Singer” star was engaged to comic Tom Green at the time.

When a fire began in their Beverly Hills home at about 3:30 a.m., Flossie “actually banged on their bed room door” and “was actually the primary alert that there was a fire,” Barrymore’s representative informed the Los Angeles Times at the time.

“I do not believe even the cliche of genuine love suffices,” Barrymore said when asked how the experience affected her relationship with animals.

“In some methods I question…. We do not should have cats and dogs. They’re so remarkable. I would never ever picture raising my own children without a house loaded with cats and dogs,” she continued, referencing Olive, 10, and Frankie, 8, whom she shows her ex-husband, Will Kopelman.

Barrymore is partnering with the cat litter brand name Tidy Cats to help them launch their brand-new litter, Tidy Care Comfort, in part due to the fact that she thinks that all cats — including her 4 saves called Peach, Lucky, Big Kitty, and Little Kitty Barrymore — are worthy of a litter box that seems like a “safe space” for them. 

“It’s really cat over commerce,” she said.

As part of the collaboration, the talk-show host is revamping a litter-box space for the winner of a brand-new Tidy Care contest. From now up until May 8, you can go to the Tidy Care Comfort website and explain why you require a “littervention” in your home. The winner will get $5,000 to refurbish their space with products from Walmart and get pointers from Barrymore on how to make their space more zen for cats.

Barrymore said her Manhattan house presently has no outside location, so she has a hard time “like everyone else” to make the areas where her cats do their business look more welcoming.

“Why does it all need to look so practical? Why can’t it be more stunning?” Barrymore asked.
