A canine is protected at home with its proprietor due to a rescue staff that winched him out of a 50ft ravine.

The pet fell into the ravine on the walk across the photogenic Aber Falls in Rhaedr Fawr, Snowdonia National Park.

Its devastated proprietor reached the canine beneath however couldn’t get his pet out – so the Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Organisation had been referred to as in.

After a quick search, the canine and its proprietor had been positioned and rescue members descended on ropes.

The canine was then lifted to security, with a rescue staff spokesperson mentioned it was ‘bruised but okay’.

The pair had been then guided again as much as a path earlier than being helped again right down to the principle monitor.

A lucky dog was saved by a rescue term after plunging 50ft down a ravine on a waterfalls walkies. The beloved pet fell into the ravine on the walk around a photogenic waterfall beloved by day-tripper. But it slipped from the path at Aber Falls in Rhaedr Fawr in the Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park. His devastated owner reached the pooch but couldn't get them out - so the Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Organisation were called in. WALES NEWS SERVICE

The rescue organisation mentioned on its web site: ‘A dog owner called seeking help to rescue their dog from a ravine at Aber falls.

‘Local team members deployed directly with further troops taking technical rescue equipment from base.

‘The owner and dog were located in very steep ground and assisted back up to the path before being helped back down to the main track.’

In 2022, a Yorkshire rescue staff took three hours to rescue a canine who fell down a separate 50ft ravine while chasing a squirrel.

Patterdale terrier Roxy was distracted by the animal whereas on a walk in Pickering, North Yorkshire, and tumbled down the steep hill.

A staff member from Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue was lowered into the ravine on a rope, and grabbed Roxy.

She was given a number of fuss by the staff, with North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue saying it was a ‘happy story’ with each canine and proprietor being discovered protected.
