A male strolling his dog at a tank in Oldham needed to be saved by professional groups after falling and hurting his knee.
On Wednesday, November 30, Oldham Mountain Rescue Group (OMRT) were called after reports a guy strolling his dog had actually slipped on a lawn slope at Dowry Tank in Denshaw and had actually hurt his knee.
The OMRT were called by the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) for support with the safe evacuation of the guy who was not able to stroll due to his injury.
Following a brief search at around lunch break, in which 14 OMRT workers were included, the casualty was discovered.
A casualty carer and NWAS paramedic were then able to examine and deal with the guy’s injury.
He was offered a splint to stabilise his leg prior to he was packaged in OMRT’s “additional warm” winter season casualty bag and continued the stretcher for 1km to the roadway and into an ambulance.
The task took OMRT workers around one hour and 40 minutes.
