The RNLI have been referred to as to the seashore in Morecambe after a canine grew to become ‘stranded on a sandbank’ and surrounded by the incoming tide.
Volunteers have been alerted to the incident close to Red Bank Farm in Morecambe on Bank Holiday Monday (August 28). Four crew members on board an inshore rescue hovercraft have been despatched to the scene at 6.380pm.
Morecambe Lifeboat stated the canine was stranded on the sandbank with the ‘incoming tide surrounding it’. Thankfully, nonetheless, the canine was capable of swim safely throughout the channel and to the shore.

The canine was then greeted by its relieved proprietor and the Bay Search & Rescue group who have been additionally on the scene to help. The RNLI is urging canine house owners to not enter the water if their pet is at risk or reduce off by the tide, and to as a substitute name 999 and ask for the coastguard.

“The Inshore Rescue Hovercraft launched on service with 4 RNLI crew members on board and headed to the scene. The canine was stranded on a sandbank with the incoming tide surrounding it.
“Thankfully, the canine swam safely throughout the channel and to the shore the place it was greeted by its awaiting proprietor and the Bay Search & Rescue group who have been on scene to help. We want to remind the general public that if you happen to do suspect any animal is at risk or reduce off by the tide, don’t enter the water, name 999 and ask for the coastguard, identical to this dogs proprietor did.”
