The RNLI had been known as to the seashore in Morecambe after a canine turned ‘stranded on a sandbank’ and surrounded by the incoming tide.
Volunteers had been alerted to the incident close to Red Bank Farm in Morecambe on Bank Holiday Monday (August 28). Four crew members on board an inshore rescue hovercraft had been despatched to the scene at 6.380pm.
Morecambe Lifeboat stated the canine was stranded on the sandbank with the ‘incoming tide surrounding it’. Thankfully, nonetheless, the canine was in a position to swim safely throughout the channel and to the shore.

“Thankfully, the canine swam safely throughout the channel and to the shore the place it was greeted by its awaiting proprietor and the Bay Search & Rescue staff who had been on scene to help. We wish to remind the general public that if you happen to do suspect any animal is in peril or lower off by the tide, don’t enter the water, name 999 and ask for the coastguard, identical to this dogs proprietor did.”
