A stolen canine has been discovered 200 miles away from his home in Nottinghamshire.

Boy, a one-year-old German Shepherd, disappeared from his proprietor’s land at Girton close to Newark-on-Trent on 30 November.

The homeowners contacted lacking animal charity Beauty’s Legacy which traced him to the Southampton space utilizing his microchip.

Charity founder Lisa Dean stated: “The homeowners had been over the moon. The entire household had missed him a lot”.

Ms Dean stated Boy lives on a farm and had freedom to roam.

“One day he simply vanished,” she stated. “It was reported to police however as there was no direct proof of theft, there wasn’t a lot they might do.

“Once we had been contacted, we spoke to neighbours, studied CCTV and put up posters and social media posts.

“But as Boy wasn’t formally stolen, he wasn’t going to seem on any statistics or information like that.”

Two days in the past fortune smiled when the individuals who had unsuspectingly purchased Boy tried to alter his microchip, which prompted an alert to the corporate had been it was registered.

Ms Dean stated: “Between us and varied companies, together with the police, we traced him and went down there to choose him up.

“He’s in good situation, if slightly drained, and naturally it was actually nice to get him again to his home.”

She added: “We get three or 4 calls a day about lacking animals – not simply dogs however cats, birds, goats – nothing is sacred.
