A canine who was left to die in rising floodwaters is on his approach to a contented ending.
In September, Greenville police officer Benjamin Schultz rushed to save lots of a small pit bull who had been tied to a fence throughout Tropical Storm Ophelia.
The storm precipitated flooding within the space the canine was in, and waters had been rising.

A video posted to the Greenville Police Department’s Facebook web page confirmed the rescue.
Now, police have shared an update.
The rescued canine was given a brand new identify, Benjamin, in honor of the officer who saved him.
Benjamin is at Pitt County Animal Services and is up for adoption, in line with police.
“Benjamin is heartworm positive so he will need an owner who is willing to give him the extra love and care he so rightfully deserves. He is estimated to be approximately 1 year old,” police stated.
The proprietor accused of leaving him tied to the fence has been charged with animal cruelty, in line with police.
