It’s been an eventful few days for Connie the Container Dog!


A workforce of marine inspectors from the U.S. Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston rescued the lovable canine from a transport container within the Port of Houston on Jan. 31. It is believed that the canine was trapped inside for at the least every week, per the U.S. Coast Guard Heartland.


The organization stated Connie was “drained, hungry, and really completely satisfied to see her rescuers” after being discovered and targeted on discovering her a brand new home.





After being taken to the Pasadena Animal Shelter in Pasadena, Texas, for care, it was decided that Connie could be despatched with the Maryland-based organization Forever Changed Animal Rescue (FCAR)  “for a new shot at life.”


“Connie is a bit beneath weight and presently weighs 30lbs,” FCAR wrote whereas sharing the information on Facebook on Friday. “She is extremely candy however very shy and terrified of her new environment, as to be anticipated. She is heartworm-positive, and we can be getting her began on therapy ASAP. We will even be doing a full workup on her to make sure that she receives all of the care she wants and deserves.”


The U.S. Coast Guard Heartland shared a sweet video of Connie being flown to the FCAR on Tuesday. The FCAR shared that she was capable of make her arrival with them attributable to “two superb Pilots N Paws pilots” who flew her “first-class.” After present process a number of exams following her arrival, it was found that she was pregnant.

“She was taken on to our rescue Founder, Director, and Veterinarian for a full workup, together with bloodwork, x-rays, and an ultrasound. Upon examination, we seen that Connie had some mammary growth. Her x-rays confirmed some minor considerations, and when the ultrasound was carried out, SURPRISE CONNIE IS PREGNANT!!!” FCAR wrote in an update on Wednesday.


“The fetuses have robust heartbeats and have been bouncing round, so whereas her being pregnant is guarded attributable to her being with out meals and water for 8 days or extra, we’re hopeful given what we may see,” the update continued.


She can be residing with a vet throughout her being pregnant, and the organization will search for her “ceaselessly home” after she’s totally recovered, reported WRC-TV.
