STEVENS COUNTY, Wash. – A canine was rescued from a home fireplace in Stevens County on Thursday.
According to Stevens County Fire District 1nobody was within the home when the hearth was reported, however a canine was trapped in the home as smoke billowed from the construction.
In conjunction with Spokane firefighters, the group of emergency responders managed to get into the home and retrieve the canine.
The canine has recovered from smoke inhalation and is secure, as is the household who owned the home.
The fireplace reportedly began within the storage and was an unintentional blaze.
