A nine-month-old canine has come on leaps and bounds since being discovered coated in mites.
Avy, a Dutch Shepherd cross, arrived at Dogs Trust Merseyside simply earlier than Christmas “in a terrible state”. The canine, then a couple of months old, was “tiny” and her fur “was really patchy and sore due to mites”. The staff on the Huyton-based rehoming centre stated their hearts went out to her.
Now, the staff are hoping Avy, who has “ears to rival Roger Rabbit”, will discover a home this Easter.

Georgina Lowery, supervisor at Dogs Trust Merseyside, stated: “Her fur was actually patchy when she arrived and her pores and skin was very sore, particularly on her stomach, legs and face. She was so uncomfortable. We instantly began to deal with her with antibiotics and a topical pores and skin therapy.
“We had been so happy as her pores and skin began to enhance actually shortly and after a couple of weeks her fur began to develop again. She is a surprising, wholesome lady now. She has an actual spring in her step.
“Three months later, Avy has blossomed into a good looking young lady and has probably the most spectacular ears. She is basically affectionate and energetic and likes to discover to fulfill her youthful curiosity. We actually hope that because the Easter holidays arrive, she finds her good match.”
Avy can doubtlessly dwell with one other canine and may dwell with kids over the age of 10. She “loves being around people” so can’t be left home alone till she is totally settled, after which time aside will should be constructed up steadily.
Avy is claimed to be “playful, loves her toys and likes to keep her brain as well as her body busy”.
Georgina added: “Easter is recognised as a time of new beginnings, and we really hope that proves to be true for Avy. It is so sad when a dog of such a young age has gone through so much. All Avy lacks is confidence, but we have every confidence that with the right family, she will become the perfect canine companion.”
