COLLIER COUNTY, Fla.– On April 12, a homeless man set a South Naples house on fire, which hurt a lady and killed a dog.

According to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), Patrick Barrett, 40, devoted arson at a home in the 5200 block of Treetops Drive.

Detectives discovered monitoring video that revealed Barrett go into the home’s patio location. He got a bottle of paint thinner and put it throughout the patio.

Then, he utilized a lp torch to spark the paint thinner prior to he fled.

Within minutes, flames spread out throughout the lanai location.

A lady was oversleeping the home when she heard sounds outside and smelled smoke inside.

After the arson, Barrett was recorded on security video tossing a flat screen television through a car windscreen at the RaceTrac at Barefoot Williams Road and U.S. 41 East.

Barrett was jailed and charged with arson to an occupied house, arson triggering excellent physical injury and cruelty to animals.
