CARMICHAEL – A lady is under arrest on suspicion of animal cruelty after she supposedly dragged a dog to death after leaving it leashed to her recreational vehicle.

The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office says, Monday night, deputies reacted to the location of Fair Oaks Boulevard and Marconi Avenue to examine a report of an RV that had a dog on a leash connected to it.

At the scene, deputies discovered a dreadful sight of a dead dog with substantial roadway rash and other injuries.

As deputies quickly discovered, the recreational vehicle driver – determined as 33-year-old Anita Lopez – had actually stopped at a business in the location and let her dog out while leashed. However, she ultimately returned in the recreational vehicle and began the drive away.

The dog was still leashed to the recreational vehicle, deputies state, and was dragged about 100 backyards prior to it lastly slipped out of the leash and passed away.

Lopez, who the constable’s workplace says was already a parolee, has actually been jailed and was booked into Sacramento County Jail on felony animal cruelty charges. Her bail has actually been set at $500,000.
