Pune: The Pimpri Chinchwad civic physique has opened its first state-of-the-art canine park within the Pimple Saudagar space.It is the primary such facility within the district, aimed toward creating quite a lot of services in a single place for pets. We have deployed a dog trainer, members from our dog squad, a veterinary doctor, a supervisor and a sanitary inspector at the park,” the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s (PCMC) veterinary officer, Arun Dagde, stated. “Owners can celebrate their pets’ birthday at the celebration point inside the park. Besides, pet owners can sit in the café inside the park while their dogs play,” he stated. “It is a good facility for pet lovers as dogs are confined within the park premises. There is also a separate space for aggressive dogs to avoid conflict,” Samruddhi Shetkar, who visited the park along with her canine, stated.The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) had proposed an analogous canine park in Katraj close to Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park, however the undertaking is but to take off. “An approval from the Central Zoo Authority is needed to use the land. PMC reached out to them in December 2023, and a couple of follow-ups have been made in this regard. The works will start once we get the approval,” Ashok Ghorpade, the top of PMC’s backyard division, stated.This initiative was taken to deal with the rise in human-canine conflicts. According to the proposal, the park in PMC limits will come up over 3-5 acres and may have a swimming pool, in addition to play gear for the canines.
