The solar was out, the temperature was chilly, and everybody was smiling and having a howling good time right this moment, because the annual Dog-O-Ween was held at Bobcat Park, 3140 236th St. S.W., in Brier.
The neighborhood drooled over this occasion, as evidenced by the total parking zone. Many folks needed to walk from blocks away. It was paws-itively packed.
Parks Board Member Ken Overstreet jokingly mentioned that this was the a hundredth annual occasion. But when pressed for the suitable reply, he mentioned 10 or 20 years. Board Member Karla Wood mentioned, “Let’s say it’s the third one after COVID.” That’s 21 years in canine years.
The pooches paraded earlier than judges, who selected a grand-prize, second- and third-place winners, and honorable mentions. But actually, all contestants have been fairly fetch-ing of their costumes.
As a deal with, the park is open to good doggy girls and boys all weekend until closing on Sunday. Hey, that’s nothing to smell at.
The Brier Volunteer Parks and Recreation Board organized right this moment’s occasion, and the sponsors have been Bowwow Fun Towne, the Snohomish Conservation District, Concern for Neighbors Food Bank, and Jason’s Java.
