Cops are hunting for the driver of an off-road bike after a dog was killed in a hit and run in Dundee this afternoon.
The owner of a Staffordshire Bull Terrier has actually been left traumatised after the dreadful event around 3pm on Saturday on the Dighty Burn course, near Balunie Drive.
The dog was struck by the off-road bike throughout a walk and passed away at the scene.
Police are now attempting to find the driver, who was using dark clothes and a helmet at the time.
Anyone with details is being prompted to contact officers by calling 101 and pricing estimate event number 2187 of August 19.
Constable Matthew Boath said: “This was not surprisingly a distressing event for the owner, who was out walking their dog at the time.
“We are requesting anybody with details, or who might have seen the off-road bike and its rider in the location, to please stepped forward.
“You can call police on 101, quoting incident 2187 of 19 August, 2023.”
