Los Alamos Dog Jog 2023
The wind held back till the majority of the runners and walkers and their excited dogs finished the 26th Annual Dog Jog on April 29. This year’s Dog Jog raised over $17,000 for Friends of Shelter and Companion Animals. Friends of Shelter and Companion Animals (FOSCA) is a not-for-profit organization that supplies support to abandoned animals and to family pets and their owners in northern New Mexico. Our disastrous care program pays for veterinary look after ill or hurt animals that have no owners or whose owners cannot pay for the treatment. Our spay/neuter program supplies grants to our partner companies, consisting of the Espanola Valley Humane Society and the McKinley County Animal Shelter so that they can offer low- or no-cost spay/neuter services to their customers. FOSCA likewise motivates accountable family pet ownership and promotes adoption of shelter animals through education and outreach.

An unique thanks to Marcus Kolman for asking for a shelter dog to keep up, and to the Espanola Valley Humane Society for providing amazing shelter dog Rosalie for Marcus to keep up. Marcus and Rosalie made an amazing group and were initially over the surface line. Finally, we want to thank everybody who took part in our 17th Annual Dog Jog. Thank you for running or walking, thanks for bringing good friends, family, kids, and dogs. Special thanks to the walkers and runners who ‘rented’ a shelter dog and enabled them to take part in the enjoyable; they had a blast. Thanks for taking part our post-race reward event and thanks for supporting Friends of Shelter and Companion Animals and our efforts to make life much better for our less lucky animal good friends.
